Dozens Run In Band Election
There is no shortage of interest in the Okanagan Indian Band elections.
The are three candidates for chief, and 33 for the ten councillor positions, all for two year terms.
The candidate lists have now been finalized.
Voting for the 2,000 band members will be held on March 29 from 9 am to 8 pm at the Head of the Lake Hall.
Byron Louis has been the band’s chief since 2011.
Louis is seeking a fourth term, while the other candidates are former chief Dan Wilson and Joseph Jack.

An elector may vote by either requesting a mail-in ballot from the electoral officer and completing and delivering it before the election, or attending the election in person.
