Wildfire burning near Stump Lake

A new wildfire has sparked in the Interior.
The B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) said a blaze was discovered near Stump Lake, off Highway 5A between Merritt and Kamloops. The fire was estimated at 30 hectares in size as of Tuesday morning and, being out of control, the fire could spread beyond its current boundaries.
The BCWS was responding with 55 wildland firefighters and aerial resources.
DriveBC did not report any closures to the highway due to the wildfire as of time of publication.
