Vernon investing $1.8M in road upgrades through rehabilitation program
The City of Vernon is moving ahead with its annual road rehabilitation program, aimed at improving safety and driving conditions across several key corridors this construction season.
The city says it will invest $1.8 million in 2026 to rehabilitate about 4.4 lane kilometres of roadway as part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance. Work is already underway and is expected to continue through September.
City officials say the program is designed to extend the life of existing roads, reduce long-term repair costs and improve overall travel conditions for motorists, cyclists and businesses.
Several projects are scheduled across the city, including work on 58 Avenue, 48 Avenue, 15 Avenue, 17 Avenue and 29 Street, along with utility-related paving on Weeks Road and completed work on 31 Street.
