Wooldridge not seeking re-election to Kelowna city council
Kelowna city councillor Loyal Wooldridge will not run for re-election in this fall’s municipal vote, bringing an end to eight years on council.
Wooldridge says the decision comes after careful reflection on the demands of public life and a desire to spend more time with family and focus on personal priorities, including graduate studies.
First elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, Wooldridge also served as chair of the Central Okanagan Regional District and ran provincially in 2024 in a closely contested Kelowna Centre riding.
Over his time in office, he was involved in housing policy discussions, short-term rental regulation, and regional emergency coordination during major wildfire response efforts.
