Legendary Fair Prepares For 2017

Saturday is a big day for the Interior Provincial Exhibition.

That when the organizing society holds its annual general meeting at the Oddfellow’s Hall at 3005 Wood Avenue in Armstrong.

During the meeting, the board of directors will be announcing the Employee of the Year from the 2016 fair.

“This is a prestigious award given to a volunteer who has given generously of their time to The Armstrong Interior Provincial Exhibition and the community at large,” says Paulson.

The AGM is also when new board members are voted in.

“This year we have four Executive Directors positions up for re-election or nominating a new person to stand on the executive. Any member of the Interior Provincial Exhibition in good standing can be nominated for any of the position on the IPE board.”

Paulson says anyone looking to become a member for 2017 you can buy a membership for $28.35 up until the start of the AGM.

The fair will be celebrating 150 years of agriculture in Canada this fall with the theme ‘Field to Plate, come celebrate 150 years of agriculture in Canada.’

The 118th annual IPE will be held August 31-September 4.
