Car Runs Into Motel

A crash in downtown Vernon led to a car running into the side of a motel.

Fire Rescue Captain Brent Bond says a car ran a stop sign and hit an SUV Friday morning, causing the car to lose control and go through a yard and fence and into the Schell Motel on 35th Street.

There were no injuries, and it caused what’s believed to be minor damage to the motel and a nearby building.

“It was more the fence that was damaged, and the car touched a business on the corner, just grazed it, and took some cosmetic stuff off the building,” Bond tells Kiss FM.

Police are investigating the cause.
