Update On Trans Canada

Traffic is again stalled on the Trans Canada Highway to and from Alberta.

The route reopened near Golden this morning after avalanche control, but it will be closed east of Revelstoke from 12:30 to 4:30 for avalanche work with no detour available.

Drive BC says two hour closures should be expected.

A high avalanche hazard has the Trans Canada Highway closed this morning east of Golden.

A detour is apparently available but not recommended.

Avalanche control will be taking place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m….but no word on when the highway might re-open.

Avalanche control will also be taking place east of Revelstoke between noon and 4 pm. for 2 hours at a time. There is no detour available there.
