Highway Reopens
Feb 10, 2017 | 3:03 PM
The Coquihalla Highway has reopened for the first time since Thursday night.
It had been closed between Hope and Merritt for about 20 hours due to freezing rain, stranding hundreds of motorists.
Drivers are being asked to stay below 80 km per hour on the route and to watch for disabled vehicles
“Drive with extreme caution and drive to conditions,” says Drive BC. “Stay below 80 km per hour keeping speed appropriate for conditions. Watch for disabled vehicles and make way for emergency, maintenance and CVSE vehicles. No vehicle should pass a working snowplow.”
