Firefighters Knock Down Naramata Forest Fire
A small wildfire in the Naramata area is now in the mop up stage.
Naramata Fire Chief Tony Trovao says they got called about midnight to a logging road about 2 kilometres off the Kettle Valley Railway Trail.
“It was crawling up the trees, candling in certain spots. We arrived on scene and Ministry of Forests was right behind us and we managed to knock down the flanks.”
The fire was kept at about one hectare and forestry crews are dealing with hot spots.
