McCormick Creek Evacuation Alert Continues
Aug 10, 2017 | 10:39 AM
An evacuation alert remains in place for 23 properties near the McCormick Creek wildfire 20 kilometres southwest of Salmo.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay issued the alert last night after the fire grew to 75 hectares.
It’s not contained and visibility is limiting any detailed assessment of the fire at this time but BC Wildfire has confirmed that it still remains on the south side of the Salmo River.
Organizers of the Shambala Music Festival at the Salmo River Ranch are being advised to remain prepared for any evacuation alert or order.
