UPDATE: Peachland Fire
Yesterday afternoon around 4:30 B.C. Wildfire crews responded to a fire near Peachland.
B.C. Wildfire information officer Rachel Witt told KISS-FM News this morning that 8 fire fighting personnel stayed overnight at the fire scene which is about 5.5 kilometres southwest of Peachland on the Munro Lake Forest Service Road and still estimated at 3 hectares. This morning crews returned to the scene to assist.
According to the BC Wildfire Service and their latest media update, the wildfire burning southwest of Peachland is now fully contained, and fire crews don’t anticipate it to grow any larger.
Kevin Skrepnek, Fire Information Officer, says the fire was attacked aggressively with assistance from the Peachland Fire dept. and topped out at about four hectares.
There is no longer air support fighting the fire and no evacuation alerts or orders in place for it at latest report. .
