Vernon nearly saw a daily rain record set Saturday
The past weekend was one of the wettest on record.
Environment Canada reported 13.4 milimetres of rainfall in Vernon Saturday.
“Compared to other August 29ths this was second place, the second highest rainfall amount for this day,” Chloe Katsademas, a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, told Vernon Matters.
“It was really just shy of the record-breaking day rainfall amount where, in 2005, [the Vernon] recording station reported 13.6mm on August 29.”
