Overdose Awareness Roadshow in North Okanagan
A unique community initiative will go in the North Okanagan to mark International Overdose Awareness Day.
On Monday, August 31, The Vernon and District branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, along with area partners, will roll out the Overdose Awareness Mobile Roadshow.
The initiative will see special events held in Vernon, Lumby and Cherryville for people to speak with experts and professionals to learn about substance use, overdose prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery.
Community members will receive practical, evidenced based information on those topics and have the chance to have open discussions relating to substance use and their impacts to individuals, families and communities.
