Swimming advisory issued for Marina Park Beach in West Kelowna

Aug 26, 2026 | 3:00 PM

Swimmers are being urged to choose another beach after elevated bacteria levels prompted a swimming advisory at Marina Park Beach.

The beach remains open, but advisory signs have been posted so visitors can make an informed decision based on the latest water-quality results.

Interior Health guidelines set a maximum acceptable level of 235 E. coli bacteria per 100 millilitres of recreational water. Young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are considered most vulnerable to illness from elevated bacterial levels.

Beach water is tested weekly, with testing increased to daily when results exceed provincial guidelines. The advisory will remain in place until water-quality readings return to acceptable levels.
