Financial aid to support Coldstream’s emergency response

Coldstream is getting some financial aid to improve its response to emergency situations and disasters.

The municipality has been awarded $30,000 to be used to enhance the Emergency Operations Centre through staff training and purchasing new equipment.

The money is coming through the Union of B.C. Municipalities’ Community Emergency Preparedness 2026 Emergency Operations Centres Equipment and Training funding stream.

Coldstream council accepted the funds at the meeting Monday, Aug. 24, and authorized staff to spend the money for the EOC enhancements.
