Annual skateboard and music festival returns Saturday

The third annual Lillyfest skateboard and music festival takes place in Coldstream Saturday.

The family-friendly, youth-focused, free-to-attend festival will be held at Creekside Park from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 29.

The event will feature skateboard competitions with prizes and a day of live music. Vancouver Island-based Miina will headline, but there will also be performances by Mozie Bones, Soleil Fume, ORRA and Jorb.co, with a special performance from Turenne to end the festival.

The festival is organized by Local Losers Underground, Okanagan Skate Co., and the VOICE (Vernon-Okanagan Inspired Community Events) Society.

“Lillyfest was started as a way for us to give back to our community and create something special for all the creative, weird, and wonderful people who attend!” Noah MacLeod, co-owner of Local Losers Underground and main organizer of the festival, stated.
