Community and non-profit leader to run for Vernon City Council
An arts advocate and non-profit leader is entering the race for Vernon City Council.
Dauna Kennedy, executive director of the Greater Vernon Public Art Gallery, announced she will run for a council seat in the coming municipal election.
Kennedy said she believes Vernon needs fresh leadership guided by people who understand the pressures residents are facing and can responsibly plan for the future.
“I’m running to help guide that change with long-term vision, fiscal discipline, smart investment while keeping Vernon affordable, connected, and healthy,” the candidate said in a release.
