TORONTO — The Toronto Sceptres re-signed forward Claire Dalton to a two-year Professional Women’s Hockey League contract on Friday.

Dalton joined the Sceptres last year after spending her first two seasons with the Montreal Victoire.

The 26-year-old from Toronto produced one goal and nine assists in 30 games last season, bringing her PWHL totals to nine goals and 19 assists in 80 games.

The Sceptres now have eight players under contract next season. Dalton joins forwards Emma Gentry and Natalie Spooner, defenders Renata Fast, Kali Flanagan and Ella Shelton, and goaltenders Raygan Kirk and Jessie McPherson.

Toronto finished fifth in the PWHL standings last season, missing the playoffs for the first time.

The Sceptres hired Pascal Rhéaume as their head coach after Troy Ryan joined the San Jose expansion franchise as coach and general manager.
