Local Picked In First Round of Draft

A Vernon player was taken in the first round of the Western Hockey League bantam draft today.

Centre Ben King was selected 13th overall by the Swift Current Broncos.

King is with the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna.

Kaiden Guhle, a defenceman from Sherwood Park Alberta, was taken first overall by the Prince Albert Raiders.

Centre Jack Finley of Kelowna was taken 6th overall by the Spokane Chiefs

The draft is for players born in 2002.
