Two local care homes dealing with outbreaks

B.C.’s health ministry reported eight new COVID outbreaks at health care or care home facilities in Interior Health (IH), with two of them in the North Okanagan.

Noric House, an 85-bed long-term care facility in Vernon operated by Interior Health, has one resident case associated with the outbreak.

Monashee Mews, a long-term care home in Lumby, has three staff and one resident case.

An outbreak in a rehab unit at Kelowna General Hospital has 13 patient cases, according to information from IH’s media relations department.
