Ducks Fly South to Kelowna
The Anaheim Ducks have decided that they don’t want to be in the unfriendly confines of Edmonton during their break between games 3 and 4 with the Oilers…so they are flying South to practice between games…in Kelowna.
Game 3 goes tonight, but game 4 isn’t until Wednesday, so Monday and Tuesday with the Rockets away, they will practice in Kelowna.
Of course Kelowna will be more of a safe haven for Ducks…that is if you put aside the fact that the top performing Oiler offensive player in the playoffs so far…6-2, 215 lb. Leon Draisaitl…was a fan favourite in Kelowna before being called up by Edmonton from the Rockets.
Draisaitl helped the Rockets to the 2015 WHL Championship, where he would be named playoff MVP, putting up 28 points in 19 games. Draisaitl won the Stafford Smythe Trophy as Memorial Cup MVP the same year.
