Charity of Choice
Armstrong’s Interior Provincial Exhibition has chosen its charity of choice for its 118th fair this fall.
The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35, in Armstrong gets the honour as it marks its 91st year in the community.
IPE President Ted Fitchett says the branch works tirelessly for the community, holding fundraisers and events.
“We look forward to working with them, not only as we have in the past, but in the year 2017, with greater effort to celebrate the 150th year of the Confederation of Canada, our military past and present, and the contributions and roll of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #35 in our community and in our country,” says Fitchett
Ken Brandel, President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 35, Armstrong said he’s pleased and looking forward to working with the IPE this year.
Branch 35 got its start on November 16, 1926 when it became the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League.
