Export Advice
About 90 local businesses are getting a chance to learn more about new markets for their products at a Vernon event Friday.
The BC Trade and Investment session at the Prestige Hotel will feature reps from nine countries, as Vernon’s Economic Development manager Kevin Poole explains.
“They will do little market overviews of what their market is like, so a better idea of Korea, the Philippines or Indonesia,” Poole tells Kiss FM
Poole says the US generates the most interest, but China, Japan and Korea are growing markets for things like food products and skin care products.
“We’ve got companies looking at Asia, more so than they were four or five years ago when the reps were here. There wasn’t as much interest in those markets, but now there is definitely some interest.”
Poole says a mix of North Okanagan, Shuswap and Kelowna businesses are registered for the session which includes overviews by the country reps followed by one on one meetings.
