Update: Mud Slide Closes Highway

It looks like a mud slide will keep Highway 97A closed until tomorrow.
The slide came down 10 km south of Sicamous near the Hummingbird Beach Resort.
Drive BC says a Geo-technical assessment has been completed, and there is no estimated time of opening
The next update will be issued at 8 am Wednesday
Drivers can detour using Highway 97B and Highway 1.
“Slope instability has caused debris to flow across Highway 97, 10 kilometres south of Sicamous,” says the Ministry.” “The highway is currently closed in both directions until a geotechnical assessment can be completed.”
“Currently, there is no estimated time of re-opening the highway. There were no injuries or vehicles involved in the slide.
The ministry would like to remind drivers to obey all traffic control personnel and watch for flaggers in the area.”
Highway 97A is closed in both directions 10 km south of Sicamous due to a mud slide.
The site is said to be near the Hummingbird Beach Resort.

There is a detour on Highway 97B and Highway 1.
