Get set for “Carnival in Wonderland” next year.

That was the theme announced for the 58th annual Vernon Winter Carnival Feb 2-11, 2018.

Chairperson Deb White says it should be popular.

“We thought everyone can take their own depiction of it. Do they want Alice in Wonderland? Do they want Winter Wonderland? Do they want Canada Wonderland? So I think it’s going to open up the avenue to many events,” White tells Kiss FM.

White says the directors made the choice after getting about 50 suggestions from the public.

The big winner was Ruth McGrath Dance which won the Crystal Cam parade spirit and carnival spirit awards.
