Green Nominates Candidate

The B.C. Green Party now has a provincial election candidate in the Shuswap riding.

Kevin Babcock is an employee at the Canoe Plywood Plant, and formerly worked in the railway and aerospace industries in the Lower Mainland.

Babcock says he wants to empower people to work toward creating their own job rather than relying on government programs.

“People don’t want to be dependent on government money, people don’t want to be dependent on government job creation,” says Babcock. “I want to empower people to work towards their own career path – create their own ‘job’ and their own income, to make achievements that give them pride. The B.C. Green poverty reduction plan and commitment to a better education will give people the safety net they need to put their lives in their own hands.”

The other confirmed candidates for Shuswap are incumbent Liberal Greg Kyllo and Sylvia Lindren of the NDP.
