Wildfire near Summerland under control

Bald Range wildfire is under control.

The B.C. Wildfire Service reclassified the fire status Monday, August 31, as it was no longer expected to grow beyond the boundaries.

The fire sparked next to Summerland August 7 and quickly spread, leading to Evacuation Orders for the entire community.

Some of the orders were previously rescinded, but those still in effect remained in place as of time of publication.
