Vees take 3-0 series lead on Vipers

Apr 24, 2024 | 5:30 AM

The Vernon Vipers are down to their last playoff life.

The Penticton Vees shut out the Vipers 4-0 Tuesday night at Kal Tire Place to take a commanding 3-0 lead in their second round BC Hockey League series.

Callum Arnott and Simon Meier each had a goal and one assist for the Vees while Will Ingemann had to make just 14 saves for the shutout.

Etan David stopped 31 shots in the Vipers net, as his playoff record dropped to 4-4.

A crowd of 1,751 came out for the game, lower than the Vipers normal number, likely due to the game having a later start time due to the Esso Cup Canadian Under 18 women’s club championship being played at Kal Tire Place.

The game started at 8:22 p.m. and ended at 10:38 p.m.

Game 4 will again have a later start, 8:15 p.m., on Wednesday night, with the Vipers trying to avoid a series sweep.
