Silverbacks Defeat Vipers 8-4 in Preseason Action

Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers dropped an 8-4 preseason decision to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at Rogers Rink Tuesday night.

Vernon played a solid opening half before Salmon Arm pulled away during the second half of the contest.

Van Martin scored twice for the Vipers, while Mykolas Skadauskas and Oscar Bjork added singles.

Lane Maarhuis made 18 saves on 20 shots for Vernon. Jack Carter played the back half of the game and stopped eight of the 14 shots he faced.

Alexis Beaulieu recorded a hat trick for Salmon Arm, Cash Olson scored twice and Jared Rothman contributed three assists. Silverbacks goaltender Kasey Fuson made 18 saves.
