Timber Barn Venue Upgrades

Regional Co-Op donation to upgrade Caravan Farm Theatre

A local theatre is getting some financial aid to support its venue.

The Armstrong Regional Co-op and Federated Co-op Limited (FCL) announced a joint $30,000 donation to the Caravan Farm Theatre.

The donation, coming through Co-op’s Community Match Fund, will go to support the Caravan Farm Theatre’s Timber Barn Venue Adaptation project.

That project will see the fir board cladding, theatre drapes and folding chairs at the Timber Barn Venue replaced, the lighting upgraded, and the facility more protected from the sun, rain and wind.

“The Caravan Farm Theatre is a special local non-profit that brings people together and creates lasting memories right here in our own backyard,” Jason Keis, Marketing and Communications Manager for the Armstrong Regional Co-op, said.

“We’re proud to partner with FCL to support an organization that enriches our community and makes our region a better place to live, work and visit.”

The upgrades will also allow for more flexible programming to be held at the Timber Barn Venue, from matinee and evening theatre performances to barn dances to Indigenous events.

“Caravan Farm Theatre is grateful for this support from Armstrong Regional Co-op and Federated Co-operatives Limited to help us evolve to meet the needs of our community and adapt to the changes in our environment,” Vicki Stroich, Environmental and Education Programs Manager for the Caravan Farm Theatre, stated.

“With this adaptation to our Timber Barn venue, we look forward to gathering community members together throughout the year around stories and events that inspire a sense of awe and possibility. The arts bring us together and, as cooperatives know, we are stronger together.”

A timeline for the venue upgrades will be determined by Caravan Farm Theatre at a later date.
