Vernon BMX launches merchandise to mark milestone

Jan 31, 2022 | 4:00 PM

The home of BMX racing in Vernon is celebrating a milestone this year.

Ranger Park on 47th Avenue has been a part of the community for 40 years, getting its start in 1982 when a group of motivated parents successfully petitioned the City of Vernon to transform an empty lot into a bike track.

In honour of the anniversary, the BMX Club is launching new merchandise, or swag, as the club calls it.

“We are excited to celebrate our 40th anniversary this season. And to start off our celebrations Nova DeFehr of Shine Creative has come up with an awesome logo for our new clothing. We can’t wait to see member’s past and present wearing this swag,” said Patty Everson, club executive.

DeFehr donated her time to the project being a mother of two little riders herself.

The new line will be available Feb. 1 to Feb. 25 for presale through the club’s website and Facebook page with payment completed via their Square site.

Past and present club members are asked to show their support.

“Don’t forget that every purchase helps the club stick around for another 40 years,” Everson added.
