Two-vehicle crash north of Valemount claims two lives

Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision 12 kilometres north of Valemount on Highway 5.

North District RCMP say the collision between a northbound pickup truck and a southbound tractor trailer occurred just after 2 a.m. Saturday morning (Oct.3).

Police say initial indications are that the northbound pickup truck crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided head-on with the southbound tractor trailer.

“Both occupants of the pickup truck, a 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old man, were deceased. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.
