Agency investigates police actions in serious injury case

B.C.’s police watchdog is investigating whether the actions or inactions of police played a role in serious injuries suffered by a young woman in Chase.

The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) said the woman jumped from a bridge last Friday shortly after jumping in front of a vehicle in the area.

The IIO says the woman was not hurt in the earlier incident but she was tracked down by a police officer.

It says the officer spoke to her but she was not detained.
