New COVID-19 cases took a bit of a dip on Thursday.
Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 82 new cases for a total of 9,220.
That total came after two days of over 100 new cases.
Two of the new cases are in Interior Health (IH).
There are 1,261 active cases, with 69 people in hospital, and 19 in critical or intensive care.
There are two people with COVID in hospital in IH.
One new death was announced, in the Fraser Health region, for a provincial total of 235.
There are 3,093 B.C. residents under active health monitoring after exposure to known COVID cases.
Henry said the public health system did a record number of COVID tests Wednesday, with 10,899.
“That’s just an incredible feat as our labs have been ramping up across the province. I know there’s been some challenges in some places, but this speaks to the amazing work people have been doing to make sure people get the testing they need as quickly as possible,” said Henry.
There is one new health care outbreak at the George Derby long term care centre in Fraser Health, the second outbreak there, and there are no new community outbreaks.
