Petition to Save Armstrong Eye Clinic
Hundreds of people have already signed a petition to keep the Lions Vision Centre in Armstrong, according to Armstrong Lions Club president Diann Boyd.
She says the petition is expected to be making the rounds at all Lions Clubs’ events in Armstrong and Enderby this summer before being presented to Interior Health and, possibly, the BC Legislature.
There has been talk that Interior Health could move the facility to Vernon Jubilee Hospital due to a shortage of anesthesiologists.
Boyd says a recent letter to the club from Susan Brown, president and CEO of the Interior Health Authority, expresses appreciation for the time and financial assistance from the Lions Club for the clinic.
