Update on RDCK Wildfires

Here is the latest information on wildfires in the Regional District of Central Kootenay.

KOKANEE CREEK WILDFIRE

Approximate size: 70 hectares

BC Wildfire reports that the Kokanee Creek wildfire has not had any significant growth overnight and is currently being suppressed by air crews and with a ground crew of 20 firefighters.

The Evacuation Alerts for 135 residents remains in place with no new alerts to report.

MCCORMICK CREEK WILDFIRE

Approximate size: 350 hectares

BC Wildfire reports that this wildfire remains on the south side of the Salmo River. The RDCK Structural Protection Unit remains in the area with 40 firefighters.

All Evacuation Alerts and Orders remain in place with no new alerts to report.

HARROP CREEK WILDFIRE

Approximate size: 2100 hectares

BC Wildfire reports continued attack but no significant growth to date.
