Update: Man Dies On Highway

RCMP continue to investigate a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Enderby that killed a 37 year old Vernon man.

Police say the man was hit while walking on Highway 97A near Stepney Road around 10:30 Tuesday night.

“The preliminary investigation and scene examination has established that a 37 year old Vernon male was struck by a northbound Alberta registered red Ford F350 pick-up truck while he was in the travelled portion of the northbound lane of Hwy 97A,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured, and did stop at the scene.

Few details are available, but a Vernon man was killed in an accident just south of Enderby about 10:30 last night.

Police say the man was walking along Highway 97A near the Starlight Drive-In when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

RCMP Corporal Joe Leeson says it was not a hit and run and the investigation is in the very early stages.
