UPDATE: Drive BC Traffic Notes for Monday Travellers.

Drive BC website has issued an advisory for Highway 1. Limited Visibility in both directions with Smoke at East Boundary of Glacier National Park due to Prairie Hill Fire. Traffic control on site

Also Ferry Service Interruption at Needles to Fauquier. Expect delays due to August long weekend.

Heavy Traffic Volume at Fauquier to Needles (Hwy 6 West). Expect delays Monday August 7 through Tuesday August 8, due to August long weekend.

DriveBC has expanded its smoke advisory to other highways near the B.C.-Alberta border.

Highway 93 in both directions between Radium Hot Springs and the border is the subject of an advisory due to wildfire smoke that may affect visibility.

To better deal with the adverse visibility conditions travel is recommended between 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mountain Time.

Drivers should anticipate reduced speed and possible delays. The highway may close without notice to ensure safety for motorists. Long weekend travelers heading home could take highways 1 and 95 ‎as an alternate route.

As well, due to limited visibility, an advisory has been issued for Highway 95 in both directions.
