Black Ice Caused Rollover

Mar 8, 2017 | 9:15 AM

A middle aged Vernon woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries after she lost control on Silver Star Mountain Road in the icy conditions.

Vernon – Fire Rescue said her Subaru slid off the road and into a ditch trapping her inside.

Captain Dan Walker said they used the jaws of life to extricate her.

“She spun off the road and into a ditch and landed on her roof.”

Walker says road conditions were ugly at the time.

“The ice up there was really treacherous black ice conditions this morning all the way from Butcher Boy’s on up.”

The woman, who was the only person in the vehicle, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
