New CAO Hired

Mar 7, 2017 | 7:00 PM

The Township of Spallumcheen has hired it’s new Chief administrative officer

Doug Allin takes over the position March 27th.

He most recently was CAO for Grand Forks and has 25 years of local government experience — according to Mayor Janice Brown.

“His strengths are community engagement, development services, economic development and sustainability. We are looking forward to working with him because he has a lot of knowledge on the infrastructure development area.”

Brown says he has a background in infrastructure and engineering which will pay big dividends with the new 950-thousand dollar grant announced by the Province to deal with water issues in the Hullcar Valley.

“He was instrumental in water meters and the water development in Grand Forks, so we are looking forward to his expertise for sure.”

Brown says the Hullcar Valley situation will be Allin’s main project as soon as he starts.

Allin takes over for Corey Paiement who left the CAO’s position earlier this year, to join the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.
