Mar 3, 2017 | 5:40 AM
Travel in BC’s southern interior mountain passes is not recommended today or tonight.
Environment Canada has issued a heavy snowfall warning with up to 20-30 cm. of new snow and gusting winds expected today and this evening.
The Coquihalla, Allison Pass, Kootenay Pass, Eagle and Rogers Passes are all being affected at high altitudes.
Travel is not advised, but if you must, inform others of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and cell phone.
Motorists need to drive for the conditions with heavy snow and limited visibility making travel difficult to and from the coast and Alberta.
