Sentence in Fatal Vernon Crash Expected Today

The sentence is expected to be brought down today in Vernon Provincial court for a woman accused in the fatal car crash that killed an off-duty nurse and injured another.

39-year old Lori Vance was charged with impaired driving causing death and bodily harm in the case after a van t-boned a car in downtown Vernon Oct. 23rd, 2014.

33 year old Erin Smith of Kelowna died, while 31-year old Lindsay Hauck of Vernon suffered arm and head injuries.

Police say the van allegedly ran a red light.
