The BC government has announced close to three million dollars in resurfacing projects for Highway 6.
The projects will begin this spring about 35 kilometres east of Lumby.
O.K. Industries Ltd. has been awarded a $1.5-million contract to seal-coat an 11-kilometre section from Creighton Valley Road to the Gold Pan Café and a 20-kilometre section from West Kettle Forest Service Road to Lightning Peak Road.
A $1.3-million contract has been awarded to Okanagan Aggregates Ltd. to pave nine kilometres of highway between the Gold Pan Café and West Kettle Forest Service Road.
Vernon Monashee MLA Eric Foster says the work will improve driving conditions on the route linking the Okanagan and West Kootenay, and will make it safer.
