Illegal Campers

The issue of people illegally camping at the Lion’s Campground in Lumby is over.

A half dozen campers were living there, but Mayor Kevin Acton says they have all cleared out meeting the February 15th deadilne the Village had imposed.

“No everybody’s cleared out and everything’s good. I mean there was a bit of a mess left behind, but I’m sure the Lion’s Club will take care of that.”

Acton says the problem of having people camping in the park past the allowed selected season of licensing has been rectified.

“We’ve put a lock on the gate. There should have been one there in the first place. We also reviewed the lease with the Lion’s Club so they know what the rules are. I think it was just a miscommunication in the first place.”
