Police Incident At Bus Depot

Feb 15, 2017 | 2:28 PM

Police had at least one firearm drawn as they dealt with a report of a person with a possible weapon at Vernon’s Greyhound bus depot.

Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy says no arrests were made, and no one was injured or threatened during the incident around 1 pm Wednesday.

“We were responding to a complaint of a possible weapon that was seen there,” says Noseworthy.  “The (officers) have cleared the scene, but I don’t have any more information on it other than that yet.”

She says officers were focusing on a person in that area, and she’s not sure if it had anything to do with the bus depot.

Noseworthy says it’s standard procedure for officers to have a rifle out during a weapons complaint.

“There was at least one rifle out. For any weapons complaint, at least one of the officers has their carbon rifle out.”
