The cause is under investigation this morning (Monday) after a structure fire on East Vernon Road Sunday afternoon.
BX Swan Lake Fire Chief, Bill Wacey, says the call for a structure fire came in a 4:15 pm, and was fully engulfed by the time he arrived on scene.
The structure was a “large shed, with a couple of additions put onto it, along with a greenhouse on the back end,” Wacey says. The fire posed some challenges to Wacey and his crew as the structure “had quite a huge fuel load in it. There was about 3 or 4 stacks of different lumber and timber inside the sheds, along with a large amount of paint cans, and about 4 or 5 jerry cans full of gas.”
Wacey says, there was “no other damage other than to the structure itself, which was a total loss.”
The fire is not considered suspicious at this time.
