NDP Leader Hosts Vernon Forum
BC’s NDP leader will be in Vernon Monday for a health care forum.
John Horgan and New Democrat health spokesperson Judy Darcy say they are concerned about longer wait times at walk in clinics and for other services.
“There are stories of people waiting in line at walk-in clinics for an hour and a half in Vernon, before the clinic even opens, just to register to see a doctor,” says Darcy. “That’s a terrible way to run a health care system, and clear evidence that Christy Clark isn’t working to improve health care for people in Vernon.”
“Patients are languishing in pain instead of getting the timely medical services that they require to heal. That just isn’t good enough and British Columbians deserve better. They deserve a government that puts their health needs first.”
Darcy says she wants to hear people’s stories so she can advocate on their behalf in the BC Legislature.
The event is Monday February 6, from 7 to 8:30 pm, in the Conference Room at the Best Western Pacific Inn, 4790 34th Street in Vernon.
