Everyone Invited to RespectFEST Celebration
RespectFEST 2017 culminates with a major multicultural celebration in Vernon.
Lauren Gilley from the Downtown Vernon Association says it’s from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday at Civic Plaza by City Hall, with plenty to see and enjoy.
“We’ve got lots of different entertainment, world music, cultural dance, and lots of activities for families as well,” Gilley tells Kiss FM.
Gilley says everything is free.
“In fact, the City of Vernon has also given free transit for Saturday, so if you’re heading down, don’t worry about bringing the car, just hop on the bus as all transit within the Vernon boundaries is free for RespectFEST.”
The Allan Brooks Nature Centre is also holding a raptor flight demonstration at 11:30 am.
“We’ve also got two events Sunday, a big gathering at Komasket Park that everyone is welcome to attend, and a family fun day at Caetani House, so we’ve seen tons of success from all of our partners with all of these free events this week,” states Gilley.
