Snow At Silver Star

Sep 18, 2017 | 12:27 PM

Seems kind of early for Silver Star Mountain to get its first taste of snow –but it’s not.

Operations manager Brad Baker says the mountain got a dusting of the white stuff overnight.

He says they usually expect some snow in September.

“We had snow two years ago around Sept. 1. It normally won’t hang around until the third week of October, so we’ve got a bit of time yet, but it will come and go and certainly crack the whip on is. It will serve as a motivator,” says Baker.

Baker says while this snow won’t stick around, it does get skiers and boarders excited for the new season which starts in November.

“I just watched the comments on Facebook this morning and it certainly got everyone excited. From my aspect I really like it because it’s a big motivator for my staff to get everyone going,” says Baker.
