Six Lane Project Changes Traffic Patterns

Motorists are being advised about some traffic pattern changes coming to Highway 97 in Kelowna

The Transortation Ministry says as part of the six-laning project through from Highway 33 to Edwards Road, the highway on-ramp by Auction World off Sexsmith Road and Old Vernon Road will be closed permanently to traffic, effective tonight (Sept. 14).

In addition, the south-bound left-turn lane onto Commercial Drive will be permanently closed as of Sunday night, Sept. 17.

Detour options are available via new Rutland Road, Acland Road and Edwards Road until the ultimate configurations of Sexsmith Road Intersection and new Rutland Road Intersection are completed.
